Mother's Day

For all of our kids' birth Matt has made a birth video.  It's not what you think, it's less afterbirth and indecent exposure and more pictures of the baby put to music.  When he did Andrew's almost ten years ago it was cutting edge.  I remember we mailed out DVDs as a birth announcement with the picture slideshow on it.  It was unheard of, we were pioneers, months ahead of our time.
Anyway, for Mothers Day this year he finished Eddie's video.  I thought I'd share it here

Long Overdue

Eddie was born 9/9/10, yep that's 18 months ago.  But, here are some pictures of that great day!

My doctor and I decided to induce me, and it was so nice to have Randi and Hannah come and take care of the big kids while I was at the hospital.

Dad, and big sister loving little Eddie!

Happy Family!

Matt's Truck

Tuesday night Matt left for scouts. About 10 minutes later I get a call from him to come get him, that he was in a car accident. The way to the church is a two-lane road. To turn in onto the road to the church you have to sit in the traffic lane, and wait until it is clear to make the left hand turn. Matt was sitting there, waiting for about a stream of 10 cars to pass, when he looked in his rear-view mirror, and saw a car coming up on him fast. In the quick seconds before impact Matt tried to think if there was any way to avoid getting hit, but there was no time. A 70 year old man plowed into the back of the truck at what the officers estimate to be 45-50 miles per hour.

The hit from behind pushed Matt's truck into oncoming traffic, where he collided with another truck.  When all of the traffic stopped Matt jumped out to see how everyone was.  Matt had been wearing his seatbelt and was fine.  The older man in the car that hit him from behind had a cut on his head and was in a daze.  His airbags had deployed, but other than that seemed ok.  The guy in the other truck was ok too.

By the time I got there they were loading the older guy on the stretcher to take to the hospital, and all of the officers were taking pictures and writing their reports.  The traffic on the street was pretty backed up, since it's the main road, but only two lanes.  And since it was Mutual night, pretty much everyone in the ward saw Bro. Runyan's truck.

Today we went to the tow yard to get the stuff out of Matt's trunk.  Since it was pretty crunched in the back the tow yard's owner backed up a tractor and hooked a chain up to the trunk and "loosened" it for us.

We have been reminded how life is truly fragile, and are so grateful that Matt walked away uninjured!

Andrew's Baptism

Dear family and friends, we are excited that soon Andrew will be baptised! He will be baptised on Saturday March 5, 2011 at 5:00pm. Anyone who would like to attend is welcomed! We are excited that he wants to take this important step and welcome anyone who would like to support him. (If you can't come that it totally fine, and will not be looked as you don't support him :)

work our way backwards...

Well, we've had an eventful last 6 months, and of course I'm a little slow blogging about it. So, we are going to work our way backwards from now (see that cute picture of my four kids?), to last september when Eddie was born.

First Day of School!

Excited!!!!

Both Andrew and Mandy have been so excited to start school again! Mandy is a Kindergartener now, and was sooooo excited to ride the bus (without seat belts!).

Andrew is in a class with two of his best friends, and seems to have a great teacher. It was a great morning getting them ready, and they were both confident and ready when they got to the playground! Yea!
